Autumnal Fig Oatmeal


After buying some perfect figs last week, I was inspired to think up an autumnal breakfast dish that was warm and filling and full of figs and this was the result! Fig, cinnamon and vanilla porridge topped with greek yoghurt, more figs, pistachios and a drizzle of honey. The perfect transitional breakfast dish!

Autumnal Fig Oatmeal

Serves: 1

Time: 10 minutes


2 figs - 1 diced and 1 sliced in to eighths

50g oats

250ml milk

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp cinnamon

2 tbsp yoghurt

1-2 tsp honey

A handful of pistachios


  1. Add the oats, milk, cinnamon, vanilla and diced fig to a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until it has reached your preferred consistency.

  2. Meanwhile, roughly chop the pistachios.

  3. Serve in a bowl topped with the yoghurt, sliced figs, pistachio and a drizzle of honey.
